After drafting my first blog post, I had the following realizations:
The blogging process brought greater clarity in my thinking, made me more deliberate. Maybe even meditative to some extent
Creating and completing something my own brought a strange sort of joy
Brought back my sense of purpose and excitement. After a long time something is keeping me motivated for longer than a day!
Helped me discover and experiment with my natural writing ability
Hopefully it will help organize all my musings in one place, rather than in bits and sheets of paper, which always get misplaced.
Will probably help me track different phases and moods I go through.

On a lighter note, blogging helped me:
To finally legibly read my own hand(type)writing
To increase my typing speed. No better place than a blog to practice typing ;)
To find something new to abandon. After unsuccessfully dabbling in pencil sketching and Crochet, it was time for something new
To show off my superb vocabulary, pun intended ;)
To prove to the world that I am slowly graduating from my technology illiteracy
To finally be searchable on google
